Fun And The Aftermath

After spending all day Wednesday finishing my red skirt and then running off to fitness class in a mad dash, I woke up to all sorts of interesting things Thursday morning. The girls had played quite happily for hours while I sewed, being industrious and finding nooks to make into magical worlds where treasure should be stored. (The Bugs current favorite is this spot at the foot of my bed, under the coat hooks, behind the closet door with a chair in front. The space is only about 15X24".)

So when it came time to straighten up, I found lots of things that I just couldn't explain. A bit of tinker toys, one colored pencil, a paper doll stand and a red pom-pom went for an adventure in my dutch oven?

Fire fairy man watches over sleeping 'beauties'? (I use that term very loosely.)

He made several appearances in the various houses that they created out of Kleenex boxes and masking tape. (I have piles of tissues all over the house but not one single intact box in which to put them into anymore, and no I will not even attempt to describe the quantity of masking tape they utilized.)

They are still getting tons of enjoyment out of repeatedly blowing up their prickly super bowl balls. Which reminds me that I never did get around to commenting on that bit of fun. We are not sports fans of any caliber in this house. I was even seen to describe what the green grass stuff decorating a soda display at the grocery store was in words like "well, there is this big football game on TV sometime in the next few weeks, I think, that lots of people get excited about and want to watch. So the stores have lots of junky party foods for people to choose from." Much to the amusement of the lady who overheard me. However, we are a family that likes any excuse to get together. Therefore, when grandma called to invite us to the game on Sunday 'about 2 hours before it started' (we needed to check when that was) and 'no we have no clue who's playing', we said sure!

So we ate lunch and visited until game time (when half the party left to go do something else). Then we sat down to wait for 3D commercials and enjoy some snacks. Guy style.

Girl Style.

Everyone's style!

The girls got to have a picnic on the carpet. (High fun let me tell you!)

Did a little dancing.

OK, a lot of dancing.

Some youthful attempts at photography.

A little more snacking...

and then we crashed hard..

before halftime was over!
