O Holy night
On this the eve of the Epiphany, I'd like to share this moving clip of a favorite song. To remember what this season is all about as we now leave behind another Christmas season. I am one of those who leaves my decorations up until the Epiphany. I find these last weeks to be as important as the advent season of anticipation before Christmas. Advent is a sense of expectancy, preparation and activity. The weeks following are ones of peace and joy. Days of truly celebrating, enjoying family and the season in a quieter, gentler way. Epiphany is the culmination of that time. A last reminder of what it was all about before we let it go and move on with another year. All of this is not that different from what Mary and every other mother goes through I believe. The frenzy, preparation and expectation as her time of birth approaches. Then the quiet time of connecting and peacefully enjoying this new person as she adjust her life to include him and to recover from the whole experience. Finally the time comes when she moves on to another phase of life and of raising the child but looking back, the peace and simplicity of those few weeks is always memorable and different than any other period. In a day or two I will pack up all the decorations and paraphernalia until another year but the memories I keep with me always, just as I hold Him always in my heart. May God bless you and Keep you.
