I found the idea for Sunday Stash on another blog and really liked the idea. However if there is ever a day I am unlikely to consistently blog, its Sunday. Also, as I am not motivated to be a public blog, I decided to change the idea to work for me. I really like the idea of going through whatever I have to find gems that I can work with instead of always going to the store for project inspiration. I have a considerable stash of both yarn and fabric, in fact I could be labeled a small store if truth be told. (Of course I am not likely to admit that when I'm off to the real store, with all of the lovely things I want.) The point of all this is that I am going to try starting a personal Saturday Stash with the thought that it will encourage delving through what I have. Today's find is this lovely embroidered border print that I had visions of a skirt for myself when I bought it last year. The other brown came from the thrift store and will make a perfect lining for said skirt. The second print is a set of knit sheets, also from a thrift store. I just love the print and have actually had a harder time using it because I can't decide which of the half a dozen different things I can imagine with it, I want to do. I can see little girls dresses, ruffle pants and even a Mama skirt. We shall have to wait and see what it decides to become, but with the new serger it is exactly the fabric I am currently excited about. I am also excited abut two bits of a black and a white fleece that are just enough of make a hat for an upcoming birthday present. They are way too boring to show in pictures though! Stay tuned for updates on that creation.
Whatever we are doing now, it shall eventually pass and other things will replace it. This blog is about fully living and sharing the chapter were in. Included within these postings will be moments of daily frenzy, knitting, sewing, crocheting, literary indulgences, kitchen creations, fiber love, faith, family and friends. Enjoy!
