From The Simple Woman's Daybook
FOR TODAY January5th
Outside my window... a black night and a starry sky.
I am thinking...of the joy of Epiphany.
I am thankful... for God's blessings.
From the learning rooms... copy work from anything we can find.
From the kitchen... It's Dinner.
I am wearing...pretty little black things.
I am creating...a habit of productivity and a nightshirt for DH.
I am going...to focus on bliss.
I am reading...The Very Last First Time, The Domestic Church, and Dead Souls
I am hoping...to reclaim my feelings of a peaceful season.
I am hearing...the blowing of my furnace on this frigid night.
Around the house... peaceful silence and a sleeping family.
One of my favorite things...warm flannel nightclothes.
A few plans for the rest of the week: M: A few small sewing projects, T: cleaning up, making bread, W:packing up decorations and making a wallet, T: Preparing for LLL, F:Facilitating electrical projects for a friend and enjoying DH's day off., S&S: Quiet time with DH gone hunting, again :P.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...because the best things in life are very small.

You won't believe it, but I, too, am going to try to be more productive by sewing skirts. Me, the sewing-machine-phobe! Thanks for the inspiration!

Saint Joseph Prayer for the Unemployed

Saint Joseph, thou wert thyself once faced with the responsibility of providing the necessities of life for Jesus and Mary. Look down with fatherly compassion upon me in my anxiety over my present inability to support my family. Please help me to find gainful employment very soon, so that this heavy burden of concern will be lifted from my head and that I am soon able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to my care. Help me to guard against bitterness and discouragement,so that we may emerge from this trial spiritually enriched and with even greater blessings from God. Amen.
